Beliefs about birth can include what it should look like, how it should feel, what makes a “good” birth, what options we “should” or “shouldn’t” chose, how we should experience it.
These beliefs can come from family, culture, religion, medicine, media and our own experiences.
Inner Life work offers space to explore these beliefs and find freedom with them.
After birth, this work can also be about enquiring into the beliefs and narratives have formed around your birth experience and cause pain and suffering.
E.g
“It shouldn’t have gone like that.”
“I could have done better.”
“I failed.”
“My body let me down.”
“I should have known.” -
Beliefs around death can include what dying should look like. How it should happen. What makes a “good” death. What we believe happens after death, and how we think we or the people around us “should” or “shouldn’t” experience it.
These beliefs also can come from family, culture, religion, medicine, media and our own experiences.
It also often brings up beliefs around life eg “I should have lived more” “I didn’t do all I was meant to”, “This ahouldn’t be happening”.
Inner Life work offers space to explore these beliefs and find freedom from them.
After death, belief work can become an exploration of the narratives we carry around loss:
“I should have done more.”
“I should have been there.”
“I should be coping better.”
“They shouldn’t have died like that.”
“I don’t know who I am without them.” -
