"Life and death are not so separate. Life and death are just like two wings of a bird, simultaneously happening" - OSHO ‍ ‍

Throughout my own spiritual journey and a 5 year traditional birth work study which took me all over Australia and overseas, I came to understand birth & death as different sides of the same door.

My journey is not only professional but profoundly personal. From confronting my own mortality since a young age, I have cultivated a grounded, compassionate presence that supports others navigating beginnings, endings and the spaces in between.

Now back home in Tasmania, I work in relationship with a local, family-led funeral home assisting with mortuary work and the final steps with my clients.

I remain strongly connected to leading midwives and educators across Australia and overseas, as well as within my local community. These relationships deeply support me and enrich the support I offer my clients.

Whether you are preparing for or processing birth or death, supporting a loved one or navigating a major life transition. I am here to offer calm care & grounded guidance to support your physical, emotional, practical and spiritual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • According to the Natural Death Advocacy Network (NDAN), an end of life doula is:

A non-medical support person who provides holistic, tailored, and compassionate companionship to individuals and families before, during, and after death.

They fill care gaps by offering education, emotional support, and practical planning to empower informed choices

    • Non-Medical Support: Doulas do not perform clinical tasks like giving medication or changing dressings; instead, they work in the "95%" of the time people spend outside of direct medical care, providing companionship and emotional, spiritual, and practical support.

    • Holistic Care & Advocacy: They advocate for the dying person's wishes, ensuring their care is aligned with their personal, cultural, or spiritual values.

    • Death Planning: They help with "death preparedness," including advance care directives, legacy documents, emotional wills, and planning funerals or vigils.

    • Support for Loved Ones: Doulas provide respite and support to family members, helping them manage the practical and emotional burdens, which allows family members to simply be with their loved one.

    • Continuity of Care: They often act as the constant in the journey, connecting with families from the time of diagnosis through to after-death care.

  • Palliative care (e.g., doctors, nurses) manages medication, pain, and symptoms.

Doulas provide companionship, advocacy, documentation support, legacy work (e.g.memory books) and family care.

  • After death has taken place I work in alliance with a very small, independent, family led funeral home called Solace in Southern Tasmania for body care, burials and cremations.

I can work alongside other practitioners e.g palliative care nurses, hospice volunteers, medical practitioners, midwives, doulas, nurses, family/friends.

I am in strong relationship with many professionals in these spaces. And they are always available for contact from me. This means that though not in the physical, both me and my clients are supported by a community around us.

  • ‘The Work’ is a process of self enquiry and cognitive therapy developed by Byron Katie.

It involves asking, and deeply being anchored in, four simple questions about each belief or thought that causes us pain and suffering.

This practice allows us to find freedom from the grasp of the ego mind and access the peace that always exists within.

  • I am located in Southern Tasmania, and travel across the state for in-person support.

I also provide online support for services such as transition mentoring, advance care planning, legacy work and consultation.

  • "What truly sets Meg apart is her genuine devoted care and support. It’s beyond a passion or career. It is her life’s work/purpose. She provided guidance and encouragement which helped me navigate the post-partum period with confidence. Her presence was a comforting reminder that I wasn’t alone in the journey. I believe it is vital to have people like her alongside you for this initiation and transition. "

    — Sam Underwood

  • "The most meaningful experience was the beautiful placenta ceremony Meg held. She shared with us the powerful significance of the placenta, explaining its vital role as the life force for our baby and the importance of honouring it.Her ability to create a safe and sacred space for my 4-year-old to witness and participate in the ceremony was profound. Together as a family we covered it in flowers and planted a citrus tree over it and now both of my boys are deeply connected to it, always drawn to the tree that symbolises such a special bond. Her ability to create a safe and sacred space for my 4-year-old to witness and participate in the ceremony was profound. This experience is something our family will forever cherish."

    — Chloe Russell

  • "Meg is an ancient soul here to help us remember the sanctity of life and to hold us in our initiations from birth to death. I am beyond words at how grateful I am to have received her support. She is who I would want by my side through my births and death. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

  • "Meg has been a guiding light for me the last few years. She has an innate ability to truly listen and see: to witness all the workings unfolding within you while kindly and lovingly calling the hidden into light, without judgement or shame. Her mentoring work is real and raw, honest and compassionate. Doing belief mentoring with her feels like a deep exhale because you know only loving truth is spoken. No sugar coating and no glossing over the things (thoughts, beliefs, stories) that are important to unpack. Megs level of embodiment in her field of work is truly a gift to this world and everyone she supports."
