The Traditional Road Less Travelled

I carried alllll my birth books and journals in the back of 4 different vans for 4 years. Circling the country several times whilst either sleeping on top of, next to or under them. Always following the roads my path of traditional birthwork led me. East to west and back east when I missed the birthing women too much.

I visited universities and conferences to inquire about midwifery. And left each time with fiercer dedication to the old roads now less travelled. I wanted the raw, the authentic and deeply embodied. Not just the bright lights and straight lines because I knew that birth and death and real life just wasn’t this.

I chose only to learn from wise teachers of whom I strongly resonated with. Women who recognised purity and passion and welcomed me to walk beside them in theirs. If I do not know much in life well I know how to love. Because I know what it is to love ones path so deeply you centre everything around it and follow it no matter what. And what that path is; is a return to love. To support others in coming home to it. To trusting it. To choosing it over fear. And doing so sometimes fiercely.
